How to Reach

By Road : - Mussoorie is around 36 km from the Dehradun Hill Bus Stand, which is located adjacent to Dehradun Railway Station. Visitors can take a bus or taxi from the bus stand to reach Mussoorie. Instead of Dehradun ISBT, the state run bus services operate daily from Hill Bus Stand, which is around 6 km away from Dehradun ISBT. However, visitors can hire a taxi from Dehradun ISBT to reach the destination. Two wheeler rental services are also available from both ISBT and the Hill Bus Stand.
 

By Rail : - The nearest railway station is in Dehradun, about 36 km away. Dehradun is connected decently with the major rail hubs like Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Mumbai, West Bengal and others. From the station you can either hire a taxi or take the bus ride to reach the destination.
 

By Air : - The nearest airport is Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun, approximately 61 km away. It provides decent connectivity to cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Jaipur, Lucknow, and others. The most convenient way to reach Mussoorie from the airport is by booking a cab, because direct bus services are not available nearby. Alternatively, you can opt for the recently launched helicopter services, which operate once a week.

Best Time to Visit

Summers : - During summer, Mussoorie's temperature ranges between 15°C to 25°C, an ideal time to enjoy summer vacation. However, during these days, especially on weekends, the place becomes overcrowded, so plan your visit accordingly.
 

Monsoon : - It is not advisable to visit Mussoorie during monsoon, as it receives moderate to heavy rainfall, leading to landslides and road blockages in certain places.
 

Winter : - Winter is the most ideal season to visit, as it may provide a chance to witness snowfall and the rare phenomenon of the winter line. However, during these times, Mussoorie tends to get crowded, causing common issues like accommodation availability, parking issues, and traffic congestion.
