जानकारी

Also Known as Neer Jharna, Neer Garh Waterfall is the most lovable spot in Rishikesh. Tourists from far and wide often visit this place, during their journey. Located just 8 km from Rishikesh Bus Stand, the waterfall is easily accessible by road. However, to reach the actual site, visitors must trek about two to three kilometers. Upon falling from a height of approximately 25 feet, the waterfall creates a milky stream that looks stunning.

Similar to Kempty falls in Mussoorie, the descending water forms a natural pool near the area, which is used by the travellers for bathing and splashing. We must say, it's a must visit destination in Rishikesh where you can enjoy and soak some quality time immersed in nature.

Secret Waterfall

Though the Neer waterfall is not secret anymore, still many fondly refer to it as the Secret waterfall. It serves as a perfect weekend getaway, to escape from the summer heat and enjoy a refreshing bath under the cool cascading Neer Jharna. Situated along the Rishikesh Badrinath highway, the waterfall is located near Jonk village.

Two Waterfall

Neer Waterfall comprises two separate waterfalls. The first waterfall is located about 300 to 500 meters uphill from the main road, which is about 7 to 10 feet tall. The second waterfall called Neer Waterfall 2, is about 3 km further from the first.

About 25 feet high, this second waterfall emanates a thunderous sound after hitting the pond, and its sound can be heard easily from a distance. Both waterfalls are connected with a small iron bridge, and walking across it gives you a different experience.

Neer Garh Waterfall Trek

To access Neer Waterfall 2, visitors must undertake a 2-3 km trek. Though the trail is steep but its manageable and can be climbed easily even by children. It typically takes around 30 to 45 minutes, depending on your fitness and strength level. Most visitors often stop at the first waterfall and do not continue their journey to the second waterfall.

The trail is surrounded by dense trees, and you can hear the sound of gurgling streams as you walk. The path of the trail is rocky and full of pebbles, so you need to watch out for every footstep. If you begin your trek early in the morning, you might get a chance to spot a glimpse of sunrise peeking through the mountains.

After crossing all the hurdles and losing up a sweat, you will reach the second waterfall. The waterfall looks amazing and makes the effort worthwhile. You can enjoy a bath underneath it or simply relax nearby with a cup of tea or coffee.

Shiva Temple

The site also houses a temple, which is not known by many. After reaching the second waterfall, if you climb further for some meters, you will find a small temple dedicated to Lord Shiva.

Food Stalls

From the beginning of the trail to its last part, visitors will find multiple stalls selling Maggie, tea, lemon soda, and other items, except some stretches in between.
