Sahastradhara is one of the most frequently visited tourist spot in Dehradun. Situated on the bank of Baldi River, a tributary of Song River, it is known for its natural pools and waterfalls. People often visit, especially during summer, to escape the scorching heat. Although, there are several water park and natural pools, including Lachhiwala and Maldevta, Sahastradhara stands tall for its beauty and tranquil environment. This popular tourist attraction receives highest number of footfalls in Dehradun, particularly during summer season. The symmetrical water flows through the stepwise pool creates a picturesque view.
 

Gandhak Kund

A thousandfold spring Sahastradhara is located around 16 km from Clocktower in Dehradun. Apart from its natural pool, it is also known for its Sulphur rich pools, referred locally as Gandhak water. Many people with skin related issues visit here, as it is believed the water have several health benefits, particularly skin related ailments.
 

Natural Beauty

Dehradun is known for its calm and serene surroundings and Sahastradhara is no exception. Tourists often frequented here to bathe in its water pools but were amazed with its captivating scenic beauty. The water cascades through the limestone stalactites to form the Sulphur rich therapeutic spring here are rare to find. Joyland Amusement Park

Sahastradhara also features an amusement park called "Joyland Water Park", which attracts tourists, especially with families. The park consists rides for both kids and adults. Along with this, it also houses swings, restaurants and accommodation facilities. Entry to the park is Rs 450 for adults and Rs 350 for children.

Visitors can find a cave of Guru Dronacharya Ji and a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. As per the folklore, the revered Guru Dronacharya penance here to please Lord Shiva. Inside the cave, one can find the water continuously dripping from the Stalactites onto a Shivling, which resembles the Tapkeshwar Mahadev Temple.

By Road : - Sahastradhara is located around 24 km from Dehradun ISBT and 17 km from Ghanta Ghar. Mini City Buses and AC electric city buses are available from ISBT, railway station and the clock tower, with fare ranges between Rs 40 to Rs 60. Additionally, you can also book a taxi or rent a two wheeler to reach the location. Visitor can also use app based taxi service like Ola/Uber/Rapido to get there.
 

By Rail : - The nearest railway station in Dehradun, around 19 km away. Mini City Buses, Eclectic bus, and taxis provide convenient transportation options.
 

By Air : - The nearest airport is in Jolly Grant Airport, around 34 km away. Visitors can hire taxi from the airport to reach the site.
