Due to its geological formation and the water flowing through a narrow gorge, it creates a fascinating sight among its visitors. You have to wade through shallow water to reach the end of the cave, providing a unique and adventurous experience. The length of the cave is around 600 meters, where visitors may come across small to medium sized waterfalls, one of which is around 12 meters high.
History of Dehradun Robbers Cave
It is believed that during the 1800s, robbers used this cave to stash their stolen goods and as a hideout, which is why this cave is known as "Robber's Cave". Today this place is one of the popular tourist destinations in Dehradun and a must visit spot for nature and adventure lovers. After Sahastradhara, Lachhiwala, and Maldevta, Robbers cave serves as the perfect spot to escape from the scorching heat.
Guchhu Pani Entry Fee
To explore this natural wonder, visitors need to pay an entry fee of Rs 35/- per person, which may vary over the time. Children's below the age of 5 are exempted from the entry fee. If visiting by your personal vehicle, visitors need to pay an additional parking fee ranging between Rs 20/- to Rs 50/-, depending on the vehicle type.
Robbers Cave Timings
Gucchu Paani generally opens around 7:00 AM in the morning during summers and closes at 6:00 PM. However, the entry timing may vary during monsoon and winter seasons.
Water Pool
After enjoying Robbers Cave, you can also visit the private water pool located near the location. Separate water pools have been made for both men and women. Visitors need to pay a separate fee to enter these pools.

- The road leading to the spot from the main road is narrow and causes traffic congestion, especially during peak hours and weekends.
- A 300 to 500 meters section near the spot has a steep slope, which may cause difficulty while commuting.
- If you are a claustrophobic person, it is advisable to avoid visiting, as the cave is narrow in many areas.
- As the passage leading to the cave is narrow, which can cause breathing issues in overcrowding situations.
- Avoid visiting during monsoon or on rainy days, as flash floods may occur.
