Situated at the highest point of the cliff, the temple is known for its beautiful architecture. As soon as you enter the temple, you notice a large prayer wheel, along with small prayer wheels to your left.
It is believed that spinning the prayer wheel in a clockwise direction while chanting "Om Mani Padme Hum", brings you closer to the divine. Each word in the chant has its own meaning, and each syllable is said to purify the six realms of existence and suffering.
The temple houses a large stupa, which showcases the intricate artistic design of the Tibetan community. In front of the temple, there is an open space that offers a wholesome view of the surrounding landscapes.
Dalai Lama Idol
Happy Valley, which is also known as " Mini Tibet," came into existence after the Dalai Lama sought refuge here in 1959. He laid the foundation for the Tibetan community before relocating to Dharmshala for safety reasons. Inside the main centre hall, a big life-sized idol of the Dalai Lama was placed in the centre. As you step into the hall, for a minute, it feels as if His Holiness himself is present in the hall. The sense of calmness and purity this hall radiates inspires deep devotion. Besides this hall, there is a large prayer wheel, which is hard to spin.
