Located just 8 km from Mussoorie's Mall Road, Clouds End is en route to the Bhadraj Temple and just a few meters away from Cloud End Forest Resort. People often get confused between the Cloud End Resort and the spot. The Clouds End viewpoint itself is free to visit and is easily accessible to everyone.
 

Monsoon and winters are the best seasons to explore this place, when you can truly admire its beauty. During this season, the valley surrounded here gets blanketed by a cluster of clouds, creating a mesmerising view. Hence, this breathtaking sight gives the place its name- Clouds End.

Above the Clouds

Clouds End is among the popular places in Mussoorie, which is known for its untouched natural beauty. Situated at an altitude of more than 6,900 feet, it truly feels like you are above the clouds. The panoramic view of Doon Valley from here is simply majestic.
 

The spot can be reached easily by taxi or two-wheelers, though it is not supported by public transport. Many visitors often stop here during their visit to Bhadraj Temple, to capture the beauty of the surroundings with their cameras.
 

Nearby, a small Cloud End Tea Point is offering Maggi, tea, and bun omelette. Sipping hot tea while enjoying the mountains and valley view can bring a sense of immense peace.

Clouds End View Point Original

If you are unfamiliar with the place, it is easy to get confused about the exact location. The region is also known for Cloud End Forest Resort, which is situated a few meters before the original viewpoint. This privately owned resort offers room reservations as well as day visits to its gallery, museum, and viewpoint. Spread over a 400-acre private wildlife estate, the resort is home to a rich variety of flora and fauna.
 

The main attraction inside the resort is the historic Cloud End bungalow, which was built in 1838. In contrast, the original Cloud End View Point, located just a minute away from this resort, is free to visit. This is why people refer to it on Google as "Cloud End View Point Original (Free)."

Parking Fee

Clouds End doesn't have a dedicated parking space where visitors can park their vehicle. Due to this, visitors must park their vehicle along the roadside, ensuring enough space for other vehicles to pass. As the spot is located on a sloping slant height, which is quite narrow, making parking difficult, especially for four-wheelers.

Clouds End viewpoint in Mussoorie is open for all. Visitors are not required to pay any entry fee to access Clouds End.

By Road: - Clouds End is located around 8 km from Mussoorie's Mall Road and 38 km via Kimadi-Mussoorie Road, and 43 km from Dehradun-Mussoorie Road. It can be reached with the help of a bus, taxi, or two-wheelers.

  • Bus: The Dehradun Hill Bus Stand offer regular bus service to Mussoorie. However, it doesn't provide direct bus service to Clouds End. From Mussoorie, visitors need to hire a taxi or use rental services to reach the location.
  • Taxis: Hiring a taxi is the most convenient option, which provides direct access to Cloud's end.
  • Two-wheeler: Renting a two-wheeler is an ideal choice, allowing visitors to navigate easily in the traffic and avoid parking issues. Both Mussoorie and Dehradun have two-wheeler rental facilities.
     

By Rail: -The nearest railway station is Dehradun Railway Station, about 43 km away. From there, you can hire a taxi, take a bus, or even rent a two-wheeler to reach the destination. However, buses are available only up to the Mussoorie bus stand; the remaining distance can be covered by taxi or two-wheeler rental service. Taxis and rental services are readily available outside the station. You can also book two-wheeler rental service inside the station with different tariffs for weekdays and weekends.
 

By Air: - The closest airport is Dehradun's Jolly Grant Airport, situated about 67 km away. From the airport, you can easily book taxis to Mussoorie.

Best Time to Visit

Although Clouds End can be visited around the year, the best time to visit is from August to April, when the views of the entire valley are breathtaking.
