Char Sidh Peeth of Dehradun
Known for its religious places, Dehradun is surrounded with many religious places, among which the Chaar Siddh Peeth of Dehradun is special. These temples are frequented by devotees daily, especially on weekends, to seek blessings. People believe that visiting all four Siddh Peeths in a single day while fasting may fulfil one's wishes. The other three Siddh Peeth are Kalu Sidh, Mandu Siddh, and Manak Sidh.
Prasad Shops
Visitors are not required to carry prasad, as it is available at the shops outside the temple. Most commonly, Jaggery (Gud Ki Bheli) is offered at the temple. There is a local tradition among the residents, where they offer the first milk after the birth of a cow/buffalo calf at the temple.
Annual Fair
On the last Sunday of April, the temple committee organizes an annual fair dedicated to Laxman Siddh. A large number of devotees from nearby places attended this event to celebrate and witness the culture and tradition of the region.
Festivities
The temple celebrates various festivals with great pomp and show, especially Shivratri and the pious Sawan month. During these days, a long queue of devotees can be seen offering water/milk and other items at the Shivling.
Opening and Closing Time
Temple remains open to devotees seven days a week, with the portal opening around 6 am and closing at 7 PM. However, on events like Solar and Lunar Eclipse, the temple remains closed to devotees.
Bhandara
Every Sunday, or on the special occasion, a bhandara is organised by devotees with the help of the temple committee. Devotees usually organised this bhandara once their wish is fulfilled.
History
Nestled in the midst of lush green forest, the history of Laxman Siddh Mandir in Dehradun spans around two popular folklore.
According to one belief, the temple was built on the site where Lord Rama younger brother, Laxman, performed penance after defeating Ravana to absolve himself from the sin of killing a Brahmin.
On the other hand, it is regarded as the same place where Sage Laxman, a disciple of Sage Dattatreya, undertook intense penance to please Lord Shiva and laid his life after attaining enlightenment.

- Local transportation is not available directly to the temple. It is recommended to book an auto/taxi, or use your own vehicle.
- Several shops outside the temple sell prasad and other worship items.
- Free Parking for two and four wheeler is available near the temple.
- A free shoe rack stand is also placed outside the temple.
- Beware of monkeys near the temple and keep your belongings, especially handbag and prasad safe.
- Some quick bite snack shops are available outside the temple selling tea, pakora and others.
