Bashik Mahasu

One of the four revered Mahasu temples, Bashik Mahasu Maharaj Ji, is situated in Maindrath, 163 km from Dehradun. This ancient temple is quite famous in Jaunsar Bawar, draws a large number of devotees from far and wide. You can reach here by road using bus and taxi services. Mahasu is considered to be a group of four brothers (Bashik, Pavasi, Chalda, and Botha), of whom this particular temple at Maindrath is dedicated to Bashik Maharaj Ji. Mahasu Maharaj is also renowned as the God of Justice, which is the reason why the water adjuration system is still prevalent in the town. One cannot deny the fact that the biggest specialty of Mahasu temples is that most of the part of the temple is crafted of cedar wood, and this wood is donated by the villagers.
