The beautiful village Tyuni is situated 158 km away from Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand. Nestled in the lap of nature, this lush green village shares a border with Uttarkashi and Shimla. One can revel in the towering mountains and famous tons rivers that offer a beautiful panoramic view of Tiuni. Located in the Jaunsar Bawar region, Tiuni is the largest city, quite famous for its time immemorial customs and traditions. Legend has it that the message of Lord Shri Ram’s return to Ayodhya after killing Lankapati Ravana reached the villagers a month later. Since then, the villagers celebrated Diwali on this day, known as Budhi Depawali, and this tradition has been upheld through generations. Along with this, traditional festivals like Jagra, Bissu, and Jakholi fair are still celebrated with great grandeur in this region. During these fairs, the villagers, adorned in their traditional costumes, present their folk dances to the tunes of musical instruments, creating a mesmerizing sight. Visitors may access this location easily by road through bus or cab, where they can immerse themselves in the serene and picturesque nature of the area. Visitors may also discover Mahasu Devta temple, located just 16 km from here, further adding to the allure of this enchanting region.

Best season to visit
Visitors can explore the beauty of this place throughout the year, but the period from September to December and February to May are considered most preferable. One must be cautious during monsoon season, as they can encounter many issues.
