Chirmiri Peak Sunrise and Sunset Point

Chilmiri Top is around 90 km away from Dehradun ISBT and is accessible by road. Situated at an elevation of around 7,200 feet, this place is renowned for its spectacular sunrise and sunset. Important Tips for Visitors

The road leading to Chirmiri Top is not wide enough and is unpaved, caution required while driving.
The place doesn't offer accommodation, so you have to return to your stay.
It is advisable to return early from the spot, as it is surrounded by deodar forest, where you might encounter wildlife.
Avoid visiting during monsoon, as it can bring several problems.
If possible, bring binoculars to spot peaks like Bandarpunch and Swarga Rohini.
The ideal time to visit is from September to April, when you can experience the most breathtaking sunset of your life.
Carry enough cash, as the network connectivity is limited in the area.
If visiting by train or airplane, it is advisable to stay for a day in Dehradun and start your journey the next day.

Visitors can access this comely place through a well connected motorable road, offering scenic views. However, the place doesn't offer direct transportation service and one needs to first reach the Chakrata by availing a bus from Dehradun. For this, Visitors can avail taxi and bus facilities from Dehradun ISBT. The remaining 5 km distance can be easily covered by a local shared taxi or a private cab.

By Rail : - The closest railway station to the place is in Dehradun, which is about 93 km away. Dehradun railway station is well connected to major rail routes across the country. After deboarding from the train, travellers can take a taxi or bus to reach their destination.

By Air : - The nearest airport is Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun, located around 116 km from Chirmiri Top. Visitors must book a taxi in advance to complete their journey.

Best Time to Visit
