About
Bhairav Ghat is one of the ancient Ganga Ghats in Haridwar, situated 1.4 km away from Har Ki Pauri. This ghat is named after Lord Bhairav, who is a fierce manifestation of Lord Shiva. Particularly in this ghat, visitors will encounter the presence of Aghori ascetics, often seen doing penance. Additionally, there is a small akhara near the ghat where one can seek Aghori blessings. Devotees often come to worship Aghori and partake in spiritual bathing not only on regular days but also during special occasions and festivals.

Anand Bhairav Mandir
In the vicinity of Bhairav Ghat, there is a temple called "Anand Bhairav Temple. Lord Bhairav of this temple is also known as the Kotwal of Haridwar. It is believed that he safeguards the sanctity of the city's religion along with the Haridwar presiding deity, Maya Devi. Anand Bhairav Temple is one of the oldest temples in Haridwar, which usually flocks with the devotees round the year. It is believed that Lord Bhairav fulfilled everyone's wishes. In India, it is the only temple, where Lord Bhairav is depicted with a smiling face.

By Road : - Bhairav Ghat is located 1.3 km away from the city bus terminal. Various local transportation options like Autos, Rickshaws, E-Rickshaws, and others are easily available from the bus stand. The major nearest locations to access the ghat are Haridwar and Dehradun. Haridwar is around 54 km away from Dehradun and offers good road connectivity from its nearby cities. Visitors can reach Haridwar by availing of Bus, shared taxi and other means.
By Rail : - Haridwar railway station is the nearest station, which is connected well with the major rail route of the country. Bhairav ghat is around 2 km away from the station and can be reached easily with the help of Auto and E- Rickshaw.
By Air : - Dehradun Jolly Grant Airport is closest to the location, which offers good connectivity from major cities across India. Bhairav ghat is situated around 39 km from Dehradun Airport and can be reached easily by availing taxi.
Best Time to Visit
Although Bhairav Ghat is open round the year, the ideal time to visit is considered from September to March. It is advised to avoid visiting during summers and monsoon season. Ghat experienced a huge influx on occasions like Basant Panchmi, Mauni Amavasya, and during other Shahi Snan.
