Tehri Lake

Tehri Lake, a reservoir formed after the construction of the Tehri Dam, has now evolve as a prominent adventure tourist destination. Tourists seeking fun and thrilling activities often visit this lake. Tehri Lake offers a wide range of exciting water sport; namely Speed boat, Jet Skiing, Jet attack, Parasailing and more. Since it's development, the lake has attracted several tourists from far and wide. Situated just 3 hours drive away from Dehradun, it is easily accessible through motorable roads.
 

Adventure Destination

Surrounded by mountains, Tehri Lake provides a lush green scenic view. Enjoying such adventure activities with this scenic view provides a unique experience. Formed at the confluence of two pious Bhagirathi and Bhilangana rivers, Tehri Dam is located at Koti Colony, in Tehri Garhwal District. Since the lake was formed, the Uttarakhand government is actively looking to develop this place into a major adventure tourism hub.
 

After all these efforts, Tehri Lake is now known for its various water sports activities. Now visitors are not required to travel far just to experience and enjoy these activities, because they all are available at one place. Every year in the last week of December, the authority organised the Tehri Acro Festival featuring International Acro Championship and the glimpse and activities offered at Tehri Lake.

Tehri lake offers a wide range of water based activities that are filled with fun and adventure :

• Motor Boat : - A boat with a capacity of 12 people takes you on a scenic ride for a maximum of 60 minutes. During this ride, you can enjoy the stunning view of Dobra Chanti Bridge and Le Roi Huts.
• Speed Boat : - A fast paced ride full of thrill covers 6-7 km in 15 minutes or 16 km in 30 minutes.
• Jet Skiing : One of the most lovable activities, Jet Skiing offers a ride of 1 and 5 minutes. In its one minute you can only sit and enjoy the ride without actually controlling the ride, while the 5 minute ride allows visitors to take the control and drive the Jet Ski.
• Jet Attack : This ride is designed for two people at a time, offering 10 and 30 minute rides options. The shorter ride will cover the nearby areas of the lake, while the longer ride covers the area up to Dobra Chanti.
• Bumper ride : A two seater sofa ride is tied to a motor or speed boat and pulled through the lake at speed ranges 30 to 40 km/hr.
• Banana ride : A banana shaped inflatable carrying a maximum of 8 people is tied to a speedboat, just like the bumper ride. During the ride, the boat flips the banana in the middle of the lake and eventually you fall into the water. After this, riders are boarded again, and the process is repeated again.
• Water Surfing : It requires balance and skill, as riders stand on a surfboard tied behind the speed boat and pull you across the lake. You must maintain a perfect balance to enjoy the ride. You get two rounds or a total five attempts if you fall during the ride.
