How to Reach

By Road : - Tehri City is well connected by motorable roads from Dehradun and Rishikesh. New Tehri City is located around 74 km from Rishikesh and 104 km away from Dehradun Bus Stand. The nearest place to access the spot is Rishikesh, which is about 29 km from Haridwar and 42 km from Dehradun bus stand. Visitors can access Tehri by bus, shared taxi, or private taxi from Rishikesh, Haridwar, and Dehradun.
 

By Rail : - City doesn't connect with the rail directly. The nearest railway station is in Rishikesh, around 64 km away. However, Haridwar railway station offers better connectivity to various parts of India. Visitors can take a bus or shared taxi from the bus stand, while private taxis can be availed from the Railway station.
 

By Air : - The closest airport is Jolly Grant in Dehradun, around 7 km away. Taxi services are readily available from the airport. Travellers looking for the bus and other options need to reach the Rishikesh Bus Stand.

Best Time to Visit

March to June and October to December is considered the most favorable time to explore the beauty of Tehri City. Apart from other season, monsoon season does impose various challenges for the travellers. It is advisable not to visit particularly in rainy season.
