Devprayag is a small town situated in Tehri Garhwal, Uttarakhand. This place is known for the confluence of two holy rivers Alaknanda and Bhagirathi, where the Holy Ganges river originates. It mentions that people from around the world visit this site to witness the ‘Godly Confluence, which is considered sacred’. Additionally, this place is also revered as the final Prayag of the ‘Panch Prayag’ a group of five sacred confluences of river Alaknanda followed by VishnuPrayag, Nandprayag, Karnaprayag, and Rudrapryag. According to the mythology, King Bhagirath brought Ganga to earth through penance, hence the place is also known as the birthplace of Maa Ganga.
