About
Bharat Mata Mandir is one of the most unique religious places in Haridwar. Located near Sapt Rishi Ashram, the Bharat Mata Mandir is an eight-story-tall building. Its every floor is dedicated to a different deity, each holding its own significance. Just as Rishikesh is known for the Terah Manzil Temple, Haridwar is famous for its eight-story Bharat Mata Mandir. Pilgrims on their visit to Haridwar often visit this revered shrine. If we flip its pages, the temple was established in 1983 by the prominent saint Swami Satyamitranand Giri ji and was inaugurated by the late Prime Minister, Smt. Indira Gandhi.

Situated near the banks of the holy Ganga River, the Bharat Mata Mandir is known for its serene and peaceful environment. Each floor of the temple is dedicated to a different God, which entails their mythological stories. Bharat Mata Mandir stands at a staggering height of 180 feet, providing a mesmerising view of the surrounding areas. From the seventh floor, pilgrims can enjoy a panoramic view of Haridwar city. To preserve the sanctity of the temple, devotees are directed by the temple authorities to enter only in Indian attire.

Lift Facility at Bharat Mata Mandir
Bharat Mata Temple offers lift facilities for pilgrims to reach up to the sixth floor. From there, visitors can use the stairs to reach the top floor, i.e. the seventh floor. Visitors need to purchase a ticket to use the lift services, which cost just Rs 5/-. Please note that the lift can only be used for upward movement, and visitors must use the stairs while going downstairs.
Eight floors of Bharat Mata Mandir
Each floor of Bharat Mata Mandir is dedicated to a different god and theme, depicting mythological significance. spiritual, cultural, and historical heritage. If we look at each floor, then:
- The Ground Floor of the temple is dedicated to Bharat Mata, with a beautiful idol enshrined at the centre.
- The First Floor of Bharat Mata Temple is named as Shoor Mandir, which is particularly dedicated to brave Indian heroes like Bhagat Singh, Lala Lajpat Rai, Subhash Chandra Bose, and other national heroes plays important role in making India free.
- Dedicated to Matru Shakti (Feminine Power), the Second Floor of the temple portrays the inspiring story of Indian women like Meera, Savitri, Laxmi Bai, etc.
- The Third Floor of Bharat Mata Mandir is dedicated to the prominent Indian saint, and is called Sant Mandir.
- The Fourth Floor of the temple highlights the Unity in diversity of India, which showcases the cultural heritage of Indian states and UTs through wall paintings.
- The Fifth Floor of the temple is dedicated to Goddess Shakti, featuring her divine form.
- The Sixth Floor is particularly the most important one, as it features the ten incarnations of Lord Vishnu.
- The Seventh Floor of Bharat Mata Mandir is dedicated to Lord Shiva.
Bharat Mata Temple Opening and Closing Times
Before visiting the temple, pilgrims are advised to check the temple's timings. While the opening time of Bharat Mata mandir remains the same across the season, the closing time varies, particularly during summer and winter.

How to Reach
By Road: Bharat Mata Mandir is located approximately 10 km from the Haridwar bus stand. From there, pilgrims can easily access the temple, as ample services are available. The temple is located in Haridwar city, which is well-connected by road to Delhi and other major cities by bus and taxi.
By Rail: Haridwar Junction is the nearest, located approximately 8 km from the temple. To make the connectivity easy, Shatabdi, Jan Shatabdi and Vande Bharat trains run on this route daily. From the station, devotees can reach the temple using an auto or rickshaw, which are available in numbers outside the station.
By Air: The nearest airport is Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun, approximately 33 km away. The airport offers direct air connectivity from major cities. Taxis are easily available from the airport, which will take you to Haridwar.
Best Time to Visit
Due to the heat wave in peak summer, the best time to visit Bharat Mata Mandir is from September to May. The humidity during the monsoon season may also cause several issues; it must be avoided, unless you are visiting in the Savan month.
