About

One of the five Panch Badri, Yogdhyan Badri is located in a small village in Chamoli called Pandukeshwar. Mythologists say that this temple is as old as Badrinath temple, which is just 22 km away from here. Dedicated to Lord Vishnu, Pilgrims can see Vishnu in meditative form, thus the temple is known as Yog Dhyan Badri.

Nestled amidst lush green and ethereal views of mountains, this temple is just 9 km away from Govindghat. Pilgrims can see the old copper plate with valuable history inscribed on it. According to the mythologist, the Pandava handed over their kingdom to Raja Parikshit and penance here.

Moreover, king Pandu (father of the Pandavas), spent his last few days here and performed penance, which is why the village is known as Pandukeshwar. Pilgrims on their pilgrimage often visit this temple from afar.
