Ved Vyas Cave, which is commonly known as Vyas Gufa, is one of the greatest attractions near Badrinath Temple. Situated 5 km away from Badrinath Dham, the Vyas Gufa is accessible by shared taxi, followed by a short climb up a few stairs. During their pilgrimage to Badrinath, various devotees often visit this ancient cave, which is believed to be over 5,000 years old.
 

According to the legend, this is the same place where Ved Vyas ji narrated the whole Mahabharata to Lord Ganesha. It is believed that, when Lord Ganesha was composing the Mahabharata, Ved Vyas ji transformed a few important pages into stone with this divine power. As per the scriptures, he didn't wish to share those details with the world. Interestingly, the pages that turned into stone are now the roof of the cave, which actually appears like a stack of pages. Owing to its spiritual significance, several people visit here, especially during the Char Dham Yatra.

Vyas Gufa Mana Village

Vyas Gufa is one of the mysterious ancient caves, which is located in Mana, India's first Village, in Uttarakhand's Chamoli District. The cave is only a few meters away from the main road, so visitors need to climb a few stairs to reach it. Shared taxis from Badrinath make the site easily accessible for the visitors.
 

Situated near the sacred Saraswati River, the cave offers a scenic view of the surrounding landscape. Once you reach, the utmost serenity and piousness can be felt in and around the cave. Inside, a few idol is placed, among them the main idol is dedicated to Ved Vyas Ji. Along with this, the cave also houses idols of Sukhdev Muni Ji and Balabh Acharya Ji, who are regarded as Vyas Ji's sons. In the left corner, visitors can also see an ancient idol of Lord Vishnu, which is unique from others.

By Road: - The Cave of Ved Vyas in Mana is situated around 290 km from Rishikesh. It is accessible by road, with buses and shared taxis up to Badrinath. From there, visitors need to take a shared taxi up to the Mana market, followed by a short trek. Bus and shared taxi facilities are available from Haridwar and Rishikesh, respectively bus and taxi stands.
 

By Rail: - Though the nearest railway station is Yog Nagri Rishikesh Railway Station, better connectivity is offered by Haridwar Railway Station. It is situated around 313 km away from the cave and offers better connectivity from the Delhi railway station. Both bus and shared taxi options are available from Haridwar to reach the destination.
 

By Air: - The closest airport is Jolly Grant Airport, in Dehradun, around 306 km away. It is well-connected with direct flights from major Indian cities. To access the destination, visitors can avail themselves a bus and taxi options from Rishikesh, which is around 16 km away from the airport. Taxis are readily available from the airport to access the nearby areas, which can be booked easily upon arrival.
