Karnaprayag is one of the Panch Prayag of Alaknanda river. It is a small town of Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, which is situated on the confluence of Alaknanda and Pindar River. The town derives its name from the mythological figure Karna, who is said to have worshiped the Sun God, Surya, at this location.
