About

Jageshwar Dham, a prominent Hindu Pilgrimage, is located in Almora, Uttarakhand. A cluster of over 125 ancient temples and 174 sculptures, the site is collectively known as Jageshwar Temple Valley. Primarily dedicated to Lord Shiva, the complex attracts thousands of devotees every year. Considering the popularity and its religious significance, it is now being developed as the Jageshwar Dham Corridor. Dating from the 7th to the 14th century, this site holds a rich archaeological history, which is why it is now protected and managed by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). It is believed that most of the temples at the Jageshwar Dham were built and renovated by the Katyuri dynasty kings.

Earlier, pilgrims often stopped here before embarking on their journey to Mount Kailash to seek Shiva's blessings.
