Har Ki Pauri

Har ki Pauri, is considered to be the landmark of the Hindu’s Pious city, Haridwar. It is located on the banks of the Ganges River, often regarded as the Feet of Lord Vishnu. As per the legends, during Vedic times Lord Vishnu visited Brahmakund, the place where the amrit drop fell during Samudra Manthan. Due to this, the activities of Kumbh Mela and Ardh Kumbh commences from this place. During the evening time, a panoramic view of Mother Ganga is worth seeing, that’s why people came here  in numbers to witness the morning and evening Ganga Arti which is delightful for any pilgrims. Apart from this, devotees come here from far away places to wash away their sins. As per the mythology, King Vikramaditya in fond memory of his brother Bharthari built ghats in 1 BC
