Badrinath Temple Opening Date 2025- May 4, 2025

On the auspicious occasion of Basant Panchmi, the Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) announced the opening date of the Badrinath Temple. As per the information, the portal of Badrinath Temple will open for devotees on May 4, 2025. On this day, the planquin (doli) of Lord Badri Vishal will be ceremoniously brought from its winter seat in Jyotirmath. Around 15,000 devotees gather on the opening day to offer prayer at the Temple.

Badrinath Temple Closing Date 2025

The portals of Badrinath Dham remain open to devotees for about six months each year. Both the opening and closing dates are decided based on the calculation from the Hindu Calendar, called as the Panchang. For 2025, Badrinath Closing date has not yet been officially announced, which is expected to be announced on Dusshera (Vijayadashmi), which falls on October 2, 2025.
 

Generally, Badrinath Temple Kapaat closes on the second day of Krishna Paksh. It is expected that the portal of Badrinath Temple is likely to be closed on November 6, 2025 (Thursday). The exact closing date of Badrinath Temple will be confirmed by the BKTC committee. After the closing ceremony, the palanquin of Lord Badri Narayan will be brought to the Narsingh Temple in Jyotirmath, where it will remain for the next six months.

Badrinath Temple Opening Date 2026

The opening date of Badrinath Temple for 2026 will be announced by the BKTC committee on Basant Panchmi. Along with Badrinath, the committee will also share the opening dates of Yamunotri, Gangotri and Kedarnath. Typically, the portals of Yamunotri and Gangotri open on the occasion of Akshaya Tritya, followed by Kedarnath and Badrinath. In 2026, the portals of Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham are tentatively expected to open on April 19, 2026.
