About

Janki Setu is the third suspension bridge in Rishikesh. Located close to Parmarth Niketan, the bridge lies at a short distance from the Rishikesh Bus Stand. The bridge holds special significance among devotees, as it is named after Maa Sita. Like Ram Jhula, Janki Jhula also connects the New Tehri and Pauri region, and serves as a major route of connectivity. The architectural design of the bridge is unique and often captivates visitors. The entrance and exit pillars of Janki Setu are beautifully designed with intricate artwork depicting Lord Hanuman and the Ram Sita mural. While the bridge looks appealing, its charm truly comes alive at night, when it is illuminated with colourful lights after sunset.

Janki Jhula Rishikesh

Rishikesh, the Yoga Capital of the world, is known for its many attractions. One such attraction is Janki Jhula, which primarily connects Swargashram and Parmarth Niketan Ashram. Although Rishikesh is traditionally known for Ram Jhula and Laxman Jhula, Janki Setu stands out for its new-age modern architectural design.

The bridge is quite wider than the other two suspension bridges, as it spans around 274 metres with a width of 4 metres. It consists of 4 lanes; the two corner lanes are for pedestrians, while the two middle lanes are reserved for two-wheelers.

Currently, Rishikesh has three suspension bridges, comprising Ram Jhula, Laxman Jhula, and Janki Jhula. Among these, only Ram Jhula and Janki Setu are fully operational, as the Laxman Jhula has been closed due to safety concerns. Very soon, the city is set to welcome its fourth suspension glass bridge, known as Bajrang Setu.
