The Katarmal Sun Temple is one of the renowned and ancient temples situated in Almora, Uttarakhand. Built by the Katyuri Kings in the 9th Century, the temple's architecture style has been widely praised. The beautiful carving on the temple walls are declared a monument of national importance. Temple houses 44 small temples around the main deity Surya, usually known as ‘Badaditya’. To reach the temple, visitors need to trek a short distance from Kosi, of 1.5 km.

Surrounded by lush green forest, the temple offers a majestic view of the surroundings. Perched at a height of 2116 meters, it is said to be one of the highest and only sun temples in Kumaon. Devotees from afar visit this temple to seek deity blessings. The serenity offered by the temple makes it easier for the devotees to indulge in their devotion to the divine.

Located 17 km away from Almora, this temple is situated in Kumaun, Uttarakhand. It is well connected with the motorable road, and easily accessible through bus and taxi services.
