About

Kainchi Dham, a revered pilgrimage site, is located in Nainital, Uttarakhand. This Dham is dedicated to Neeb Karori Baba or usually called as Neem Karoli Baba, who is a devotee of Lord Hanuman. Visitors can see Hanuman idol in the temple and a statue of Maharaj ji. In his early days, Baba ji was known as Laskshman Narayan Sharma, but later due to his spirituality, he became widely renowned as Maharaj Ji. Moreover, in various parts of the country, Maharaj Ji is famous by other names as well. People from across the world regarded Maharaj Ji a lot. This was the reason that during the 1960s to 1970s, a number of American famous personalities, such as Apple Co-Founder Steve Jobs, Facebook (Meta) Founder Mark Zuckerberg, Julia Roberts, and many others, visited the Dham. Baba Ji lived a secluded life in Kainchi Dham, and an ashram was built here in 1964. After spreading spirituality, Maharaj ji left this world on September 10, 1973 in Vrindavan, where a samadhi temple was built in his fond memory. However, his urn was kept in the Kainchi

Dham, where devotees offer their prayer and seek his blessings. June 15 is the most important day for Kainchi Dham, as this date was earmarked by the Maharaji for Dham’s inauguration. Due to this, every important work including Maharaj Ji idol consecration and other deity idols, was performed on this date. Every year on June 15, the inauguration day of Kainchi Dham is celebrated with great pomp and show, attracting millions of people from far and wide. To stay in the ashram, visitors must seek a prior permission, which will be granted for a maximum period of three days. However, if permission is not granted, devotees can stay in the guest houses available near the Dham. Nestled amidst the lush green mountains and located on the bank of Kosi River, Kainchi Dham ashram offers a panoramic view and a serene environment to indulge in the devotion of Maharaj Ji.
