Chakrata is all set to host its first-ever Winter Carnival Festival. The three-day carnival will be held from 12 to 14 February 2026. Although Chakrata is a well-known hill station, such an event will significantly boost the local tourism Industry. Chakrata is widely renowned for its snowfall and picturesque landscapes. Tiger Fall, Lokhandi, and Moila Top are some of its major attractions that attract numerous tourists from far and wide. The Chakrata Winter Line Carnival will be celebrated for three days, i.e. 12th, 13th, and 14 February 2026. As this period falls during Valentine's Week. Over the three days of the Chakrata Winter Carnival, tourists will enjoy traditional Jaunsari festivals. It will include the Bissu Festival, Budhi Diwali, and other traditional festivals prominent in the region. Local artists will present these festivals through their attractive cultural performances.
 

While enjoying these events and local delicacies, visitors will also get the opportunity to witness a rare natural phenomenon known as the "Winter Line".

First Ever Winterline Carnival in Chakarata

The Winter Carnival has been organised in Mussoorie since 2013, drawing several tourists every year. Inspired by this, retired Colonel Anoop Panwar has taken a big initiative to start a similar event in Chakrata. This Chakrata Winter Carnival will not only boost tourism but also offer visitors a chance to understand the region's culture and traditions better.
 

Jaunsar Bawar, an integral part of Uttarakhand, is well known for its vibrant tribal culture. During this three-day event, local artists will present traditional Jaunsari folk songs and dances.

In Winter Carnival, food stalls are always one of the major attractions. At the Chakrata Winter Carnival, special food stalls will be set up, providing visitors with an opportunity to taste the authentic and traditional cuisines from the Jaunsar Bawar region.
