Valley of Flowers National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site situated in Chamoli District of Uttarakhand State. It was established in 1982 and was recognized as a World Heritage Site on 17 July 2005. The Valley of Flowers is popularly known for its meadows and different species of flowers.
It is also home to rare and endangered animals like the Gray Langur, Flying Squirrel, Black Bear, Red Fox, Himalayan Weasel, Lime Butterfly, and Snow Leopard. The Valley of Flowers covers an area of 87 Square kilometers. Visitors can find over 600 species of flowers, including Orchids, Marigolds, Daiies, Poppies, Primus, and anemones.
The only way to reach the Valley of Flowers is on foot. Trek Distance is approximately 16 km. This trek is one of the most beautiful and popular treks among tourists. Trek is quite challenging and for help Ponies and Porters are also available. Tourists can not stay overnight at the Valley of Flowers and they have to return to Ghangaria by 5 PM.

- Permit is a mandatory document that is going to be needed to gain entry in the Valley of Flowers National Park.

Charges Submission and Necessary Permission
- Filming a Featured Film or a Documentary Film or Using Drones within Valley of Flowers National Park requires permission from the appropriate authority.

Valley of Flowers National Park Tariff Charges Rules
- To avail student discount on ticket price, an identity card from a Government Institution is must.
- An Identity Card issued by a Medical Officer or the Social Welfare Department is a must for a Physically Handicapped Tourist.
- Senior Citizens whose age is 60 years or more will have to show proof of age by showing any government-issued age proof.
- Young Adult students under 18 years will have to bring their school identity cards.
- No fees for kids who are below 12 years of age.
- Showing a Passport at the Checking Counter is a must for Foreign Citizens.

- Valley of Flowers is situated in Chamoli District of Uttarakhand State at an altitude of 3,858 meters or 12,654 feet above sea level.

By Flight- Jolly Grant Airport in the District Dehradun is the nearest connecting Airport.
- The distance of Jolly Grant Airport from Govindghat is 279 Km.
- You can hire a taxi from there or reach Rishikesh first to take bus and then reach Govindghat.
By Train- The nearest Railway Station to Valley of Flowers is Yog Nagari Rishikesh Railway Station.
- The distance of Rishikesh Railway Station from Govindghat is 265 Km which will be covered through Taxi or by Bus.
By Road- The last motorable road to Valley of Flowers is till Govindghat.
- Govindghat is well connected by road from major bus station like Dehradun ISBT, Rishikesh Bus Stand and Haridwar Bus Stand.
