Uttarakhand is known for its various treks, but the Har Ki Dun Trek stands out. The cradle-shaped valley of Har Ki Dun is also known as the Valley of the Gods. It is believed to be one of the oldest trekking routes, once used by the Pandavas on their journey to heaven. To witness this epic route and the breathtaking beauty of nature, the Har Ki Doon is the most popular trek among trekkers. This moderate 40 km long trail passes through picturesque villages, sprawling meadows, and pine forest. Along the way, one can also see the stunning view of the majestic Swargaorhini peak. In this Har Ki Dun trek guide, we have shared useful information to help you plan your journey.

Trek Difficulty Level

Har Ki Dun is one of the most popular trekking destinations for both beginners and experienced trekkers. The trek route of Har Ki Dun is graded as easy to moderate. However, the difficulty level may vary depending on weather conditions and the season. Additionally, it can also depend on an individual's fitness level. The Har Ki Dun trek involves a total journey of about 40 km, which is to be covered in 4-5 days. With each passing day, the altitude increases, which can also cause altitude sickness in many and add to the overall difficulty.

The trail goes through jungle, rivers, rock terrain, and dense forest. Along the way, you have to both ascend and descend, which may also pose difficulties for some. In contrast, the Har Ki Dun trek is not that difficult if you adapt well to the situation and have enough stamina to cover the daily distances without any issues.
