Dehradun City

Situated between the Himalayas and the Shivalik hills, Dehradun needs no introduction. Being  one of the oldest cities in India, Dehradun is also the capital of Uttarakhand. With a history spanning thousands of years, it is believed that after vanquishing Ravana, Lord Rama with his younger brother Lakshman, graced this land. This place is also renowned as the abode of Guru Dron, the revered guru of Kauravas and Pandavas, hence earning the moniker “Drone Nagri”. 
Located 248 km away from the national capital, Delhi, Dehradun is connected very well through all networks with all major cities of the country. Along with this, there are some major training centers including the prestigious Indian Military Academy, Civil Servant Academy (LBSNAA), Rashtriya Indian Military College and Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy. It is believed that in the 17th century, the son of Sikh 7th Guru, Ram Rai Ji, established a camp here, due to which the city came to be known as Dehradun.
